Torsion
"Torsion" began as a one-month winter project last year. I initially set out to create a short game using Unreal Engine marketplace assets but soon found myself captivated by the process. This led me to build all the assets from scratch, transforming the project into something far more personal and ambitious.

For a full, novelized version of the story, check out the second episode of my podcast, Fictional Frequencies. Here’s the short version:
You wake up in a Soviet-era apartment, trapped in a 10-minute time loop. Each time the loop resets, you're challenged to find a way out before time rewinds yet again.
Mechanics
As I'm not a developer, the game mechanics are simple yet intriguing. At the start of each loop, a giant silver orb begins to grow, eventually transporting you to a replica of the level where the cycle starts anew. Each loop introduces subtle changes, and after the 10th reset, you’re taken to a "future" timeline where the apartment is destroyed—hinting at a hidden passage.
The core gameplay revolves around finding and placing "object A" (a battery) into "slot A" (a power generator) to halt the loop. To discover what "object A" is, you'll need to explore the apartment, gathering clues that gradually reveal the solution.
I had a lot of fun crafting the story and hiding clues throughout the environment, including scientific research notes, journal entries, and various cryptic messages.
Currently, the mechanics are complete, and I'm focused on asset creation and optimization. Please note, these screenshots are in-development and not final!
